Festival 'Must Haves'

Festivals with KidsWith Glastonbury in the next few days, the Festival Season will soon be well and truly upon us.  We often get customers stopping by en-route to pick up those essential items that we think are 'must haves' for babies and toddlers when out all day (and night) in the great British weather.  Below are some of our suggestions and items we have found invaluable when at festivals with our own children:

Sun Screen  Even if it's not scorching hot, if your child is out all day it's best to cover them with sun protection. We recommend Green People's Sun lotion and After Sun.

Wellington Boots - This is England and you have to be prepared for all weathers. The Aigle Wellie Boots are comfy and cute.

ear defenders for babies

Ear Defenders - Help to protect your baby's ears from the loud music, and could probably assist with getting them to sleep. Worth packing some ear plugs for grown ups too as far too much noise travels through tents.

Baby Banz sun glasses - Being out in the day light all day makes these an essential piece of gear to protect your child's eyes.

Mosquito patches or Bug balm - We may not be in the tropics but those nasty midges and other biting critters love the grass and will bite, so make sure you use something when the sun goes down to deter the blighters.

Rain Wear - This is England, need we say more?

A Decent Carrier - Hands down the Ergo will make life with a toddler so much easier for you at festivals.

Entertainment -  After the power runs out on your phone how else are you going to keep you little ones entertained if not with a book? Check out our selection of children's books for inspiration.

Disposable Nappies and Nappy Sacks -  One of the few times when these are useful and necessary

Wipes - Not just for baby, without access to the bath or shower, or even to clean hands these are essential. Make sure you get ones free of nasty chemicals, especially as you most likely be using your hands to eat.

Sunhat - The easiest way to keep sun off your little ones head.  We like ones with ties to ensure they stay on, and you can also buy Legionnaire-style hats to keep their necks protected too.  Check out our full range of summer hats here.

Rescue Remedy - Always handy to have, not just for you and yours, but for that crazy person who needs help across the field!

Arnica Stick - Essential piece of first aid for bumps and knocks

If you have a Bugaboo Cameleon rough terrain wheels will assist getting over the grass no end

Bucket with Lid - Emergency toilet!! Who wants to be up in the middle of the night negotiating the portaloos?! Trust us, you will be glad you took this.
