How to make a blow fish you can blow along

This is a really simple craft toy to make and you’ll have loads of fun blowing your fish along.  All you need is a couple of items you’ll probably have around the house and plenty of puff!

The bits and bobs you’ll need

A straw

String (thin enough to go through the straw easily)

Pencil

Paper or thin card

Scissors

Tape

Glue

Step 1

Draw out the shape of the fish as shown below and cut around it – make sure you keep each side of the fish connected through the middle and at the tail.  This is the best time to colour your fish in.

Step 2

Lay the straw down the middle of the fish and secure with tape

Step 3

Except for the tail, now tape or glue the body of the fish together at the bottom

Step 4

Push the tail pieces apart as this is where you will blow through

Step 5

Feed the string through the straw and secure each end to a wall with one end being higher than the other.

Now you can get blowing and have fun – why not set up a couple of lines so you can race fish!

A huge thank you to Joel Henriques from www.madebyjoel.com for his fantastic ideas and inspiration.
