How to make a dancing deer from coloured card
Here’s a great little craft toy – made all the better with the use of fasteners that allows the deer to jump and dance around.
The bits and bobs you’ll need
paper or thin card (it’s great if you have different colours)
a strip of cardboard (for the handle)
string
tape
brass fasteners (these can be found at a paper or craft store)
small hole punch (optional, for making hole for the fasteners)
scissors
pen
Step 1
Cut out the paper body and leg pieces using the template or you own design.
Step 2
Make holes for the brads using a small hole punch or craft knife.
Step 3
Cut a 12″ length of string and tie one end to a strip of cardboard, and tape the other end onto the body of the deer.
Step 4
Use a pen to make eye and any other decorations you’d like.
Step 5
Now insert the brads to attach the leg pieces. When you bend the back of the brads, don’t press them too tightly onto the paper. (This will allow the legs to move freely).
Step 6
Now start dancing!
A huge thank you to Joel Henriques from www.madebyjoel.com for his fantastic ideas and inspiration.
